Legendary Europa League XI: My All-Time Best

Hey football fanatics! So, I'm a huge Europa League fan—always have been. I've seen some insane matches and witnessed legendary players grace the pitch. Building this all-time best XI? Man, that was tough! It’s like choosing your favorite child… except, you know, there are a lot more than just eleven amazing footballers to choose from. Goalkeeper: Iker Casillas (Porto)

Picking a goalie is always a tough one, right? But Casillas? The dude's a legend. I remember watching him absolutely dominate during his time with Porto. His reflexes, his shot-stopping… seriously amazing. Plus, his leadership on the field was inspiring. This guy's trophy cabinet is ridiculous. I mean ridiculous and even though he wasn't playing in the final, his presence in the whole campaign was felt. The man deserved his place in the Europa League pantheon. He's my goalkeeper hands down.

This is where things got really tricky. So many amazing defenders have played in the Europa League. I spent hours and hours researching! I mean, I was literally losing sleep trying to figure this out. I was initially torn between a few options before settling for these superstars.

• Right-Back: Cafu (Roma). Okay, maybe a little unconventional but hear me out. The man's stamina was insane. His attacking runs were something else. The man was amazing. Plus, Roma's success in the Europa League can't be understated.
• Center-Back: Diego Godín (Atlético Madrid). This guy was a rock at the back. Unbelievable in the air, a leader on the pitch. I've never seen someone so strong in a tackle! Atlético Madrid's defensive prowess is legendary.
• Center-Back: Pepe (Porto). Another Porto legend! Fierce, committed, a total beast. The sheer physicality of this guy was enough to scare off any striker. I have vivid memories of watching him dominate matches.
• Left-Back: Roberto Carlos (Fenerbahçe). Need I say more? This guy's legendary left-footed shots are stuff of legends. His attacking runs were something else! His pace was incredible! You just don't see that level of attacking from a fullback.

Midfield: A Masterclass of Creativity and Control

The midfield is where the magic happens, right? This is where the game is controlled, the attacks are orchestrated. My midfield three are all absolute ballers who played some of the greatest Europa League football you'll ever see:

• Central Midfielder: Paul Scholes (Manchester United). The engine room. Absolute grit. Unbelievable passing range. I mean, did anyone dominate the midfield in the way Scholes did? I don't think so.
• Right Midfielder: Juan Mata (Chelsea). His creativity is unparalleled. His passing, his vision, those incredible goals... He's the type of player who makes you believe in football.

Attack: Goals, Goals, and More Goals!

This front three is all about goals. These players have a knack for finding the back of the net. And if you're gonna play the Europa League, you'd best make sure you score a load of goals.

• Left Winger: Eden Hazard (Chelsea). I still remember his dribbling skills! The pace, the trickery, and the goals! Hazard single-handedly changed games.
• Striker: Radamel Falcao (Atlético Madrid). The sheer power of this guy! A clinical finisher. His performances for Atlético Madrid were legendary.
• Right Winger: Carlos Tevez (West Ham United). This guy's goalscoring record for West Ham in the UEFA Cup? Unreal! Pure passion. You couldn't help but be drawn into his game.
